We visited RVW campgrounds for the first time as our last camping trip of 2023. It also happened to be RVW’s last weekend of the camping season. We enjoyed our time so much that we intend to return next year and stay longer next time. The …
I have not stayed her yet but plan to take my kiddo in the spring! Very friendly owners with a very unique kid oriented camp with tons of activities! I can't wait! Self check in terminal at the office is functional and easy to spot and use. Everything is meticulously kept water fountains and ponds for recreation and parks and bounce houses and giant dinosaur skeletons towing 2 stories! That's just what I saw at the entrance! I've never venture been past the gate yet! Can't wsit!
This place is bad for tent campers. We paid an embarrassingly high rate (~$70/night) for a spot along the creek in the Lover's Lane section. I wouldn't have done that if there was anything else available for labor day weekend. Fine, whatever. But for that price it was pretty disappointing. The spot itself was nice but it was small and far from the bathrooms. It probably would have been fine if the trees between the spots were thicker but I felt very aware of my neighbors the whole time we were there. Bathrooms are very small and scarce. Only 2 tiny individual stalls for men and women respectively. Kind of unnecessarily gendered as well but whatever. They were really tiny. Hard to get comfortable. They were also constructed in a way where you can hear everything going on in the other stalls. The campground layout is confusing and the signage could use some work. They also did not give us a map and only sent a pixelated image via email, which was annoying. Also the fire pit did not have a grill! So if you come here for tent camping you must bring one or be like us - running out last minute to try to find one for an extra $40. I think this place is probably great if you have an RV and kids to entertain but for a young couple that just wants to explore the mountains for a few days, I wouldn't recommend it.
In the Spring, I excitedly made reservations for several weekly and weekend stays. We had even inquired about seasonal sites. Unfortunately, a tree fell on our house and after our July stay, the summer was no longer going to afford us any …
An Amazing Time. Me and my son had a quick 2 night tent stay and we could not be more pleased. Secluded personal clean site. Fun zones for my son. Amazing pool that is heated and has fountains. Arcade. Modern and old school playgrounds. Close to the thruway. Loved everything about this place. What camping in the Catskills should be.
This is our annual family campground with our popup; we do 2-3 others each summer, but always here! The lots are far more private than other campgrounds, they have lots of things for kids to do, the sites are fairly level and well groomed and the bathrooms are never too far away. Only complaint is that the fishing pond has been very low and not well socked with fish for the last few years.
This is a work in progress, but i had to do this as soon as possible. RVW completely screwed my group of more than 30 people out of a weekend tradition that had been occurring at the RVW for nearly 20 years! Every year this event would …
This is the second time we've been to Rip Van Winkle Campgrounds, the first time we were rained out for most of the trip but the second time was for our elopement wedding. The staff here is beyond friendly and helpful. They truly go out of there way to make sure everything is perfect. The restrooms are cleaned daily and even the restrooms in the very back of the campground are as clean as any restrooms I've encountered at any of the parks I've stayed at. The sites are all spacious and wooded to allow for privacy. We stayed at 15 towards the front of the campground the first time and 90 this last trip. 90 was very spacious and in the back near the creek which was an added bonus. Overall this is one of the better campgrounds I've ever stayed at and we will be back to relive the magical week we just spent here!
Nice place. Lots to do for kids. Good location close to Woodstock. Nice big wooded camp sites. kids loved the RC track and race. We got in a little jam pulling in after dark with a big 5th wheel and the brothers that run the place came right out and helped us out big time and were gentlemen about it. I would go back.
